As parents, we have to learn that the best parents have moments of failure. We as parents, often look at other parent’s skills, and start to compare them to our own. The skills are often compared to try to figure out if we are doing good or bad at this thing called parenting. We see others having good moments and think they have it together, and we don’t think about the bad moments that aren’t seen.
When a person is getting ready to have a child, they may get told they will make a great parent. What is often left unsaid is the fact that a great parent may fail sometimes. Failure is normally looked at as bad, but as a parent you can’t always look at it that way. Those moments of failure should be thought of as a lesson, to help us strive to do better and smarter things.
When you fail, it is okay to feel bad or even cry, because that means you care. However, during the process, you have to figure out what you can do differently. Think about how you can make your current or future situation better? If you think about these things, you’re amazing, because you’re already headed towards the right path.
If we want to continue to be the best parents we can be, we have to accept our mistakes. Once we accept the mistakes, it very important to learn from them. We must continue to try to be great. Don’t let the moment of failure defeat you.
