What are you doing for you? By you I mean the person you were before you took on the title of mom/dad, wife/husband, girlfriend/boyfriend, and so forth. We often get caught up in the new titles we take on, and we start to forget about ourselves. In order for us to learn to be the best version of ourselves, that has to change.
It can be nice to take on a new relationship role, and it can also be nice to take on the title of parent. However, we can’t forget about the title we had, when we first entered this world. There was a time when you were just (insert name). Let’s always remember that.
It’s normal and good for a person to stop doing certain things because their priorities have changed. However, the need to take care of yourself is consistent. Make self care a priority. It will make you stronger as a person, and it can be what leads you to becoming a better mom/dad, wife/husband, or person in general.
